Design focus areas

Splash screen & first impression

The splash screen is the first thing parents and therapists see when opening the app. Designed to establish trust, professionalism, and brand recognition before users enter - communicating the platform's core values of care, growth, and collaboration.

Loading state & perceived performance

The app syncs user data, checks authentication, and fetches therapist information on load. A thoughtfully designed loading screen prevents the jarring blank-screen experience - making wait time feel purposeful rather than broken.

Onboarding flow

Designed to feel like a brief welcome, not an advertisement. The flow routes users intelligently to the parent dashboard, therapist dashboard, login, or onboarding screens - and should complete in 1–2 seconds with a subtle progress indicator if loading runs long.

Growth glimpse - parent insights

A feature that gives parents a meaningful window into their child's developmental journey through the therapist's perspective. Instead of raw numbers, it surfaces observations, milestones, challenges overcome, and emotional growth - transforming clinical session updates into clear, compassionate narratives.

Therapy history

A centralised, timeline-style record of the child's therapeutic journey - past sessions, goals worked on, activities completed, therapist notes, and key milestones achieved. Keeps parents and therapists aligned on progress over time.

Design philosophy

ArjiMap is built on the idea that a child's development isn't a checklist - it's a journey. Every design decision, from the splash screen to the session history, reinforces connection, trust, and continuity between parent, therapist, and child. The interface should feel warm before it feels functional.

UX principles applied

01

Trust before function

The app earns emotional trust in the first 2 seconds before asking anything of the user.

02

Progress feels alive

Loading states are purposeful moments, not apologies for latency.

03

Parents need narrative

Clinical data is translated into language that a parent can feel, not just read.

04

One journey, two lenses

Parent and therapist views are distinct but always anchored to the same child's story.
